We can tell you how we can help to bring your light back to life. 3) Send your lamp to our workshop in Derby Pack you're lamp up and send it to us. Remember to include a note inside the box with your name and return address so we know who it belongs. Upcycled and repurposed vintage theatre lighting Theatre lights make an amazing addition to your home, when mounted on a wooden tripod they create an industrial but elegant atmosphere. They are great to use as decorative room lights, reading lamps or to light up your favourite piece of art. Theatre lights tend to have a very high powered halogen bulb sometimes 500 or even 1,000 watts. We can convert vintage theatre lights to make then suitable for use in a domestic setting by restoring them and replacing the bulb holders to enable them to take modern LED bulbs which are more efficient and create less heat making them perfect to use int he home. We have a passion for all things that light up, we see the wonderful in old redundant light fixtures and bring them back to life. We specialise mainly in rewiring and repurposing old and vintage theatre lights such as Strand Patt 123, Strand Patt 137 and Furse Theatre lights, CCT, Pulsar and other models of theatre spotlights. We created this beautiful drift wood tree branch floor lamp especially for a customer to meet their design style. Bespoke tree branch standing lamp Generating ideas and making unique feature lighting. Bespoke tree branch standing lamp This vintage tree branch standing lamp was made especially for a customer by request. The customer was looking for something natural looking and eye-catching, to fit in with their bohemian interior design style. I just happened to have a driftwood tree branch in my workshop already, I was able to mount it vertically onto a rustic wooden base. I used chunky brass light fittings and gold coloured vintage style braided cable, which twines its way around the trunk of the tree creating a beautiful vine-like effect. The overall result was a totally unique standing lamp which has a wonderful bohemian natural style. Cornet upcycled lamp See how we gave this old cornet a new lease of life by converting it into a bespoke feature lamp that can be treasured for a lifetime. Cornet upcycled lamp We were contacted by a customer who had an old cornet, they wanted to keep it as a feature in their home but didn't know what to do with it. The cornet belonged to the customer's grandma who played in the Salvation Army band, the cornet was old and it'd had it's day as a musical instrument but it was sentimental because of the history attached to the customer's family. It was important to keep the integrity of the original musical instrument but ast the same time give it a new useful purpose. We were able to take a 'no damage' approach to upcycling this old cornet into a lamp, we carefully cleaned and dismantled the cornet, installed wiring and a bulb holder mounted in the horn, we hand-carved and constructed a wooden display base to mount the cornet on to, and fixed it in place using brass saddle brackets. The finishing touch was a large LED light bulb which features a treble clef filament. The end result was a beautiful decorative feature lamp that holds many wonderful treasured memories.

This beautiful french chandelier with ruby red and guilded features can to us broken and was transformed into something beautiful. Chandelier repair rewire & restoration from broken to beautiful At Stage Left Lux we love being able to bring old unloved light fittings back to life, by repairing and restoring them back to their former glory. We offer a chandelier restoration service. We were recently contacted by a customer who had this old chandelier, it had been up their loft for years and was broken and the owner of it thought it was beyond repair. The customer found us online, we asked the customer to send us some photographs of the light fitting so we could assess if it was fixable and what needed to be done to bring it back to life. Discussing and agreeing repairs and what needed to be done The customer brought the chandelier to us at our Derby-based workshop. We discussed ideas for it, showed the customer various options for different types of bulb holder and plans for the repairs. The customer wanted to keep it as original as possible, for the chandelier to be cleaned and repaired, but to keep some of the original patina to show it's age. Dismantling & cleaning The chandelier was carefully dismantled into around 40 individual parts. Each piece was carefully cleaned, polished and buffed. Ensuring that the grime was removed but enough patina was retained to ensure that it showed some age. Re-assembly and rewiring The chandelier arms were fitted with new electrical cable and chandelier was reassembled. Piece by piece the chandelier was put back together, I took lots of photos before taking it to bits to reference to ensure it was put back together the correct way! Six new BC22 bayonet cap bulb holders were fitted. Electrical testing After rewiring the chandelier was fully tested for electrical safety and to ensure it was working correctly. New fittings Brand new hanging chain was fitted in a brass colour in-keeping with the colour of the chandelier along with a new hanging hook ceiling rose to enable the chandelier to be safely fitted to the ceiling. A unique lamp made from an upcycled Johnnie Walker Whiskey Bottle - the Brief was to cause no damage to this bottle, read more about what we did to convert this empty bottle into a stunning desk light! We can design and build bespoke ceiling lights, wall lighting, and table lamps to suit your style. Johnnie Walker Whiskey bespoke upcycled bottle lamp If you’re looking for something to do with your old household objects speak to Stage Left Lux to see how we can help. We can transform most household objects into incredible lights for your home, we can upcycle your old unwanted items into bespoke feature lamps, giving them a new useful purpose. The brief for this bespoke feature light We were asked if we could do something special with this Johnnie Walker Whiskey bottle, to turn it into a unique feature light for our customer, Richard to use on his desk. The bottle had sentimental value attached to it, so the main focus was to keep the bottle in original condition and cause no damage to it whilst converting it into a lamp. Richard wanted to have the bulb concealed inside the bottle if possible. How did we do it? The brief was to cause no damage to the bottle whilst upcycling it into a lamp. The customer, wanted to the bulb to be inside the bottle, allowing light to shine through the beautiful turquoise blues coloured glass. We have put bulbs inside bottles before either by suspending the bottle from a copper pipe frame or by drilling a hole in the base of the bottle. However we were unable to suspend the bottle as it was a cork rather than a screw-top meaning overtime the bottle would slip off the cork, and we were unable to drill the bottle as we had been instructed to cause no damage to the bottle whilst making this lamp. We needed to fit the bulb holder to the cork enabling the bulb to be inside the neck of the bottle and somehow safely run the cable from the power supply to the top of the bottle whilst keeping things neat and tidy with no ugly cables being viable. To over-come this, we created a wooden base and top supported by copper columns. This allowed the power supply to entre the wooden base and the power supply to travel up through the copper columns and be safely concealed out of sight. We used thin braided cable which neatly jumps out of the wooden top and re-enters through the cork to the bulb holder. The wooden base and top were given a blue washed finish to show off the grain of the timber and compliment the colour of the glass bottle. The overall result was this beautiful industrial steampunk effect table lamp which our customer is over the moon with and has placed pride of place in his home office!
