Fire hose lamps

We were recently contacted by a customer who had acquired this pair of vintage fire hose nozzles, they wanted to turn them into a pair of industrial lamps suitable for a man-cave.

The issues were how to attach the bulb holders, safely run the wiring and because of their height they needed bases to make them stable. 

​

The brief was that they should be true to the original style and use metal for the bases. 

​

I decided to use baking tins for the base, this gives a great industrial polished steel finish, and using baking tins is a perfect choice for use with fire fighting equipment as it gives a great nod back to the Great Fire of London which started in a pudding shop bakery! 

 

The addition of wire cage shades enhances the overall industrial style. 

 

The end result is a pair of stunning focal piece table lamps which stand almost a whopping 90cm tall!
