Stage Left Lux, Giving the gift of Light
As part of our on-going campaign to gift lamps to local businesses we made this gorgeous Gothic themed Table lamp for Jack In A Box shop in Ripley Derbyshire.
Jack In A Box are a gift shop based on the main High Street in Ripley Derbyshire. T
he shop is situated in a beautiful old building which used to be Barclays Bank, they sell a fantastic range of gifts, games and fantasy themed goodies such as anime and steam punk and gothic gift wares!
They also stock a variety of boardgames and host games nights in their gothic themed games room which is inside the old bank vault!
The brief
Ben who owns the shop contacted us and asked if we could make a lamp in a gothic theme which would fit in well with their games room.
Here's what we created
We handcrafted a gothic arch shaped lamp base from solid rustic pine and added a bulb holder mounted on a wooden plinth.
We then used a real candle which we hollowed out and melted with a blow torch to create a realistic melted candle effect, wired using vintage style braided cable and to top it all off we added a flickering lightbulb to add extra drama to the gothic style!
Vlad and Frankenstein would love to have this lamp in their house!
